Saint Catherine of Sienna, on this, your feast day, pray for us!

We see so dimly, dear Lord,
Clearly, we can’t yet see,
How good will come from this cross,
How is it this can be?

Yet, we trust in You, our Savior.
And believe what You permit,
Is for our salvation,
For our eternal benefit.

Let us suffer now with courage!
What is permitted, let us endure!
Glory lies just ahead,
Though now it be obscured.

We place our trust in You, Lord.
We trust You, Lord of all.
We surrender all we are and have
To You Who took the fall.

Let us run the race toward heaven,
Toward our glorious sainthood.
We trust that all which You allow,
Is for our eternal good.

May those we love reach sainthood, too.
May they run this earthly race,
Facing each trial with courage.
What You will, may they embrace.
