“Be merciful O Lord, for we have sinned.” (Psalm 51)

We acknowledge our offense, O Lord.
We failed to do in Thine eyes right.
Before us always is our sin.
We’ve done evil in Thy sight.

O Good Lord, on us have mercy.
Wipe now our offense away,
Wash us free from every guilt,
Cleanse us from all sin today.

Create a clean heart in us, Lord,
Our prayers to You we humbly raise,
Sustain us with a willing spirit,
May our lips give only praise

For goodness of Your love and glory,
For righteousness which You bring.
Make us holy as You are Holy,
To Your truth, may we cling.

Have mercy on our loved ones, Lord.
In this world they seem so lost,
You paid the price for their salvation,
Your precious life was the cost.

With firm foundations made secure,
With hearts made kind, and minds made still,
Set them free from any error.
Set them free to do Your will.

As they journey through this life,
Help them to remember thus:
Life is short. The day will come
When our bodies shall be dust.

Help our loved ones know O Lord.
With truth that comes from Your just love.
They are made not for this world,
But for eternal life above.
