“Jesus said to His disciples: ‘Peace I leave you; my peace I give to you.”  (John 14:27]

Jesus, You left us Your peace,
Your peace to us You gave.
That we no more be chained by fear;
Or by fear be enslaved.

We so much need Your holy peace,
In Your peace we can trust.
For all things of this fallen world
Will one day be but dust.

Give to us Your peace, dear Lord,
That we may do the Father’s will,
With hearts made pure by Your love,
And souls, by Your love, made still.

May Your peace come down upon us,
As truth pervades our minds,
As we seek alone Your Kingdom.
With eyes open—no longer blind.

And let our loved ones too, Lord.
Find the peace You left.
May they feel no more abandoned—
Cast out and feeling bereft.

May they know Your loving care.
By heaven’s angels be surrounded.
May they receive Your peace,
No longer be confounded.

Thank You for taking all our fears,
Thank You for Your peace too–
May loved ones who have lost their way,
Find true peace in You.
