But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

LORD, help us love our enemies, with a love pure and true.
A love that can’t be bought or sold, a love that comes from You.
We know the sun still rises on those who don’t do what they should,
Just as the sun also rises, on those seeking to do good.

You make the rain fall upon the just. Father, this is true,
Just as rain falls upon those, who are unjust in what they do.
May we greet not just our brothers, with a hopeful, faithful kiss.
May we also be eager to greet those who in righteousness are remiss.

May we seek perfection Father, as You are perfect in all things.
May we love as You love, Father, that Your love we may bring
To those fallen into error, and those lost in ways of sin.
May we be a light of love for You, that in their hearts, peace may begin.

Show us the way to heaven. Send grace from up above,
That we bestow on others, a pure and perfect love.
And send someone, dear Father, to loved ones now quite bruised,
Send someone to light their path, that they be no more confused.

Bind their wounds now Father. Your Son has paid the price.
Save our loved ones, Father, through our Savior, Jesus Christ.
