“I will trust Him…
If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him;
in perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him;
if I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him.
My sickness, or perplexity, or sorrow may be necessary causes of some great end, which is quite beyond us.
He does nothing in vain.” (Saint John Henry Newman)
OUR LOSS WILL BECOME GAIN
Dear Lord, we will trust You, trust the work You do.
No matter what is going on, we trust You will see us through.
If we are sick dear Lord, may our sickness serve You well.
In ways we cannot know or see, in ways only time will tell.
Dear Lord, we will trust You, though we be much perplexed.
All these confusing goings on have left us somewhat vexed.
You see what we cannot see. You have the greater plan,
To bring a greater good from things we cannot understand.
Dear Lord, we will trust You, when sorrow comes our way.
We know that after agony, there arrives a brighter day.
You, Lord, are full of goodness. You bring glory out of pain.
You act in ways we cannot see. You do nothing in vain.
So, Lord, let us trust You. When we are sick, not well.
Let us trust You when confusion, comes in us to dwell.
Let us trust You in our grief. And trust You in our pain.
For if we place our trust in You, one day our loss will become gain.
