“Jesus went around to all the towns and villages
Teaching in their synagogues,
Proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom,
And curing every disease and illness.
At the sight of the crowds, His heart was moved with pity for them
Because they were troubled and abandoned,
Like sheep without a shepherd.
Then He said to His disciples,
‘The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few;
So ask the Master of the harvest to send laborers for His harvest.’”
(Matt 9:32-38)
Master of the harvest, we are like wandering sheep.
Sheep without a shepherd, seeking Your truths to keep.
Have pity now upon us, so troubled and abandoned.
Pity us who so strive to do as You commanded.
Cure now our diseases. Cure our illnesses too.
Cure now our confusion. May all confusion we eschew.
Cure our loved ones, Master. Show them what to do.
Send now to them laborers to teach them what is true.
We ask Master, for laborers, to in Your Kingdom toil.
We need laborers to weed, to plant and to till the soil.
Send us laborers now, Master, to labor for what’s true
Send laborers now, Master, who will serve none but You.
