“In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.” (John 16:33)

In this world there is such trouble,
Such troubles have we.
We can feel abandoned
As if drowning out at sea.

Yet, in Jesus we take courage,
In Jesus, we are bold
In Jesus, we can stand secure—
By His Word be consoled.

Jesus has come into the world,
The world He overcame.
Jesus, we turn now to You,
With our hearts set aflame.

Give to us a fervent faith
Impart to us courage too.
No matter what comes at us,
May we find our strength in You.

And may those we love, Lord Jesus.
Now fly on eagle’s wings.
Be their refuge in each storm, O Lord.
The truth to which they cling.

Troubles are sure to come our way.
This is true we know.
May You Who overcame this world,
On us Your peace, bestow.
