MAY WE PLEASE YOU FATHER

Jesus came up from Galilee,
He came to be baptized.
Emerging from the water,
The heavens opened wide.

God’s Spirit had descended,
Descending as a dove,
It came to rest upon Him,
From heaven above.

A voice came from the heavens,
And this the voice did speak:
This is my beloved son,
In Whom I am well pleased.

Father, as Jesus pleased You.
May we please You too.
By following Jesus,
May You be pleased with what we do.

May we find our Truth in Jesus.
May we find in Him our friend.
May we love as Jesus Himself loves,
With love that knows no end.

May loved ones lost soon find Him.
In their lives and in their hearts.
May loved ones follow Jesus.
And from Him, ne’er depart.

When our eyes close in final slumber,
When death to us does bid.
May You be pleased with us dear Father—
With what we said and thought and did.
