TO BE RAISED ON THE LAST DAY: CORPUS CHRISTI

He was the Bread come down from heaven,
This is what he said
To the Jewish crowd that gathered
He called Himself the “living Bread.”

“Whoever eats this Bread will live forever”—

His words to the Jews.
His flesh the life of the world.

But they quarreled at this news.

They asked, “how can this man
give us His flesh to eat?”
(With doubting, they would think.)
Jesus spoke: “My flesh is true food
and My blood is true drink.”

Our Lord then said “Amen, Amen,”
which means what He says is true.
“Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man

And drink His blood
You do not have life in you.”

“But whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood…”
(It’s what Christ had to say)

“Will have eternal life
I will raise him on the last day.”

Christ had life because of the Father.
This point seems to be the key.
He said “the one who feeds on me

Will have life because of me.”

Your life came from the Father,

Let us have life from You.

Let us receive the Eucharist

Believe what You taught as true.

And let our loved ones turn to You,
today and every day.

May they love You in the Holy Eucharist,

That they be raised on the last day.
